Sports, culture and the Arts Cabinet Secretary Dr. Hassan Wario on Monday Gave Football Kenya Federation and Kenya Premier League a 48-hour ultimatum to reach consensus over the running of Kenyan top league.

Wario warned that the state will act in accordance with the Sports Act should the two bodies fail to reach a consensus.

FKF and KPL have been at loggerheads over the composition of the Kenyan Premier League with FKF advocating for an 18-team league while KPL insist the league will remain with 16 teams, the situation has lead to the  two leagues running in the country with FKF League already on and KPL to commence this coming weekend.

The world Football Governing body has already warned to ban Kenya if the two bodies continue running a parallel league.

Fifa Secretary General Jerome Valcke says they want a quick solution to Kenyan crisis saying they will not allow the country to go the way of parallel leagues.
